Fighting For The Underdogs In Commercial Property Tax Appeals

Business Dispute Mediation

Every business runs into conflict, both from within and without. It’s a competitive business world out there, and there are many opportunities for disruption and disagreement. But a dispute doesn’t have to go all the way to court, especially if you consider business dispute mediation.

My name is Robert Hill, and I’m a mediator and attorney for business dispute mediation. I’ve had significant experience in both litigation and mediation, and I can offer you the benefits of my 38 years of experience. My goal is to help you solve your problem as quickly and cheaply as possible.

What Can Business Dispute Mediation Accomplish?

At my firm U.S. Property Tax Association, Inc., I like to tell my clients that “litigation ends relationships; mediation preserves them.” Mediation is a collaborative, low-conflict way forward through all the most complex of business dispute issues, like:

  • Breaches of contract
  • Conflicts of interest
  • Partnership disagreements
  • Shareholder disputes
  • Unfair competition practices

If your dispute is internal or external, my goal is to help you find the right outcome for your problem through collaboration. I want to work with you and the people you’re arguing with to find a less disruptive way forward.

Common issues include conflicts related to breach of contract, partnership disagreements, shareholder disputes and other business-related conflicts requiring resolution outside of court.

Finding Answers And A Way Forward

If you’re in a business dispute, you will have a lot of very real questions about what’s ahead. I want you to have the answers you need, and I will explain them to you in a one-on-one conversation. However, most of my clients come to me with these questions first:

What is business dispute mediation?

I went over the basics of business disputes and mediation, but in a technical sense, business dispute mediation is one of the forms of alternative dispute resolution (ADR). There are other choices, such as arbitration. I have a deep knowledge of the full spectrum of ADR methods and options, and I want to guide you to the right option.

When should I work with a business dispute mediator?

As a mediator, I think mediation is a great method for resolving issues that could upend your business relationships. If maintaining working business relationships is a major concern for you, then you should work with a mediator.

But not every issue is mediatable. Sometimes, the business relationship is too far disrupted to get back to even footing. As a business litigation attorney, I can recognize that mediation may not be appropriate in all settings. But the choice isn’t always easy, and I can help you determine the right way forward.

Why is mediation a good option?

Mediation is a good option for a lot of reasons we’ve covered. But most people appreciate three aspects: Control, privacy and cost. The control over the resolution is a lot greater in mediation than in a courtroom. Since mediation is a private proceeding, the issues discussed are not part of the public record. And mediation is not a lengthy trial and therefore is much cheaper than fighting it out in court.
